About Rolflex

Rolflex is a Dutch manufacturer and developer of the Compact® industrial folding door. Designed and manufactured in the Netherlands, the Compact® Door provides a space-saving alternative to traditional sectional and overhead doors.

Through its partnership with BX Bunka Australia, Rolflex Compact® Doors are available locally through BX ARCO, with Australian product advice, project support, installation and ongoing service.

Why choose a Rolflex Compact® Door?

Maximise available space

The door panels fold into a compact stack above the opening, removing the need for overhead tracks. This preserves ceiling space for lighting, sprinklers, crane tracks and other building services.

Insulated performance

Insulated door panels support thermal performance and energy efficiency. The Compact® Door can be used for external access or as an internal divider between controlled environments, with an optional wicket door for convenient pedestrian access.

Low-maintenance design

The Compact® Door operates without torsion springs, reducing the number of maintenance-sensitive components commonly found in traditional sectional doors. Regular professional servicing helps maintain safe and reliable operation.

Clean architectural finish

Concealed hinges and compact ceiling integration create a clean, unobtrusive appearance. Each Compact® Door is made to order and can be configured to suit the building design and operational requirements.

How the Rolflex Compact® Door works

The Compact® Door uses a vertical folding system. As the door opens, the insulated panels fold and stack directly above the doorway instead of travelling along tracks across the ceiling.

This keeps the ceiling space available for lighting, sprinklers, crane tracks, pipework and other building services.

International project example: Automotive spray booth, Belgium

Rolflex Compact® Doors were installed outside the spray booths, keeping moving door components away from the working area while preserving valuable internal space. Glazed panels provide visibility into the booths.

Industries and applications

Rolflex Compact® Doors can be configured for a wide range of new-build and renovation projects, particularly where overhead space, insulation or architectural appearance is important.

Suitable applications include:

  • Automotive body repair facilities
  • Spray booths and industrial paint booths
  • Commercial car parks
  • Automotive dealerships and showrooms
  • Warehouses and logistics facilities
  • Workshops and service centres
  • Manufacturing and industrial facilities
  • Buildings with overhead crane systems
  • Internal building partitions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Rolflex Compact® Door?

A Rolflex Compact® Door is a space-saving industrial folding door made with horizontal insulated panels. When the door opens, the panels fold vertically and stack directly above the doorway rather than travelling along tracks across the ceiling.

How does a Compact® Door differ from a traditional sectional overhead door?

A traditional sectional overhead door generally travels along ceiling-mounted tracks and commonly uses torsion springs. The Rolflex Compact® Door operates without ceiling tracks or torsion springs, leaving more overhead space available for lighting, sprinklers, crane systems, pipework and other building services.

Are Rolflex Compact® Doors insulated?

Yes. Rolflex Compact® Doors are available with insulated sandwich panels designed to help reduce heat transfer and support more stable internal conditions.

Are Compact® Doors suitable for spray booths and automotive facilities?

Yes. Compact® Doors can be configured for automotive body repair facilities, spray booths, workshops, service centres and industrial painting facilities. The door can be installed outside the spray booth, helping keep moving components away from the working area.

What design options are available?

Available options include insulated panels, glazed sections, full-vision panels, custom colours, integrated wicket doors and different control systems. The final configuration will depend on the building and operational requirements.

Are Rolflex Compact® Doors maintenance-free?

No. The Compact® Door has a low-maintenance design and operates without torsion springs, but regular inspection and professional servicing remain important for safe and reliable operation.

How much does a Rolflex Compact® Door cost?

Each Rolflex Compact® Door is made to order, so pricing depends on the door dimensions, panel configuration, glazing, controls, access options and installation requirements. Contact the BX ARCO Commercial team for a project-specific quotation.

Are Rolflex Compact® Doors available in Australia?

Yes. Rolflex Compact® Doors are available in Australia through BX ARCO, part of BX Bunka Australia. Our Commercial team can assist with product selection, project planning, installation and ongoing service.
